Injury Assessment and Diagnosis

In order to fully understand the patient's condition, a thorough investigation of the area of complaint as well as the body as a whole, is taken, including a full case history. Using physical, orthopedic and chiropractic tests, the patient is fully evaluated to determine a diagnosis.

Chiropractic Adjustments

Adjustments are helpful in preventing or reducing the wear and tear on our joints and ligaments caused by daily living. If a joint of the body is not in a proper position, that joint will not work smoothly. An adjustment is a gentle force introduced into the joint, which is intended to release the segment from its abnormal motion and return it to its normal functioning position.

Active Release Therapy (ART)

ART is a patented treatment for muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves that is a movement-based massage technique. As scar tissue builds up, muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons cause tendonitis and nerves become trapped. This can cause pain, tightness and weakness. ART can quickly and permanently release these shortened, damaged tissues.

During an ART treatment, our chiropractor uses a hands-on approach to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Treatment of abnormal tissues consists of a combination of precisely directed tension, with very specific patient movements. This quickly and permanently releases the tissues and thereby allows healing to occur.

Active Therapeutics

After a treatment session, each patient will receive a simple, personalized series of stretches and strengthening exercises. These exercises help to rehabilitate the injury and also more importantly, they prevent reocurrence of the problem.

Medical Acupuncture

Medical acupuncture is a contemporary, anatomically focused usage of traditional acupuncture that has been used for over 5000 years. Medical acupuncture targets specific muscles and nerves, whereas classical acupuncture focuses on traditional meridian points. Acupuncture needles along with electricity are used to reactivate inhibited muscles, calm tight muscles, increase blood flow, decrease pain and promote healing.
